Biased

I realized this morning while driving to work that I'm biased to other commuters, depending on what kind of car they're driving.

My BFF shannon, getting a bath
Oh, you're driving a Honda just like me? OK, you must be cool then, go ahead and pass me

A Civic eh?? Excellent choice, if I do say so myself. Go right ahead and cut me off, I'm sure you have somewhere important to be.

Pretty much any other brand of car maker? Zero grace. You're getting the horn at the first wrong move.
Kidding... kind of  :)

Anyways, I don't have much to share outside of linking up for #Backthatazzup Friday. Here's my new favorite that I've been listening to non-stop the past two weeks.

Also - reminder - I'm doing a Larabar Giveaway for my second blogiversary! Go comment on this post to enter.

Happy Friday, enjoy it my friends!

#26 // #2

Welp, I’m 26. These days it’s always funny when I turn a year older, because through the months of February – May, Andrew proceeds to call me a cougar and brag about dating an older woman. Even if I am just four (ish) months older.

Birthday in pictures? Here we go.

New running gloves, courtesy of the sister. Turns out that when you eat shit fall on concrete, your Nike running gloves will indeed rip to shreds. It was time for a new pair, and she picked out the perfect pattern of course.

However, her card may have been even better.

Birthday Breakfast:

Paleo pumpkin walnut mug muffins – drizzled with a little bit of coconut oil/cocoa on top. Plus the free Starbucks b-day drink, of course.

Hey thanks ESPN. However, the Broncos already got their ass kicked 3 days prior, so unfortunately that wish didn’t really come true.

However my desk was decorated beautifully and I was showered with some pretty awesome/delicious gifts. When 2 pm tea time rolled around I tried the box of green tea that my coworker gave me – this is hands down my new favorite.

Andrew and I implemented a no phone rule over dinner which meant I couldn't snap any pics of our excellent meal of wine and flatbread pizza’s at Bluehill Tavern in Brewer’s Hill. The ambiance was awesome, my crab pizza was different and delicious, and it was an excellent was to wrap up my first day as a 26 year old.

That and the REI giftcard he got me in preparation for our spree at the REI garage sale this Saturday. Major score.

In other news, today marks this little blog’s two year blogiversary! To all you loyal readers – thanks for following along on the journey! To celebrate, I’m putting on a (little) giveaway. I’ve been a fan of Larabars for years now, and I may have finally settled on my favorite flavor –

Comment below and tell me if you’ve ever had a Larabar, what your favorite flavor is, or what your go-to snack is. Winner gets a box of this deliciousness shipped to them – I will randomly select a winner on Sunday night, February 9th.

Winter Olympics officially start tomorrow. Can’t wait.

Cheers –

The Plan

Happy National Pumpkin Day! In honor of this beautiful holiday, I brought in a special little decoration for my desk at work.

Actually I had no idea that today was this wonderful holiday until I caught wind of it on my internet browser this morning. The desk décor just happened to be a coincidence.

Great news! My stellar boyfriend let me upgrade our gym membership so that we now have the ‘plus plan’. What does this mean? More fitness classes for me to attend. In all honesty I never use to be the biggest fan of ‘group’ fitness classes outside of spin class, which is currently off limits until my IT band starts behaving. However, I recently developed a strong desire to start incorporating Yoga into my life, and our gym offers a variety of different levels/classes/options.

yoga for athletes? yes please.

I tried out the body pump class last night for the first time, and was blown away how many 50 year old woman were literally kicking my ass. I used super light weight since this was my first time, and was definitely feeling it by the end of the 60 minutes. Our awesome instructor also handed out wrist bands for breast cancer awareness month, which for some reason made me feel very special.

All this being said, I threw together a ‘weekly’ plan last night for my workouts until running is back in the picture. I feel good about it.

Thought of the day: Was this water bottle holder in the stairmaster I got on this morning specifically made to fit Gatorade water bottles? I feel confident that it was.

Question of the day: Have you ever tried Larabars? They are my FAVORITE ‘bars’, made in Denver Colorado, all composed of simple ‘clean’ ingredients, and absolutely delicious.  Chocolate chip cherry tort is by far my favorite, it's basically like eating dessert.

Picture of the day:

enough said.
This afternoon my company hosted a ‘fall fest’ for all employees. Events included a corn eating contest as well as a bags tournament. Everyone was clearly extremely excited for it, and quickly embraced the corn as our theme for the day. Work weeks simply don't end any better.

What does your weekend look like? Any Halloween activities?

Cheers!
